Accuracy
We never invent dates, closure reasons, locations, ownership, quotes or memories. Major claims are backed by sources listed at the end of each story. We prefer archives, government and municipal records, newspapers, company records, museums and reputable journalism. Wikipedia, Reddit and social posts are research leads, not sources.
When sources disagree or a detail can’t be confirmed, we say so in the story.
Reader memories
Memories readers send us are reviewed by a person before anything is published, and only with the reader’s permission. We may edit for length and clarity. Personal memories are presented as memories — we don’t treat them as verified historical fact.
Images
Every image is credited. We use original photography, licensed or permitted archival material, verified public-domain images and reader photos shared with permission. We don’t republish images just because they appear online. If you own an image we’ve used and have a concern, contact us.
Sponsorship and independence
Sponsored and partner content is always labelled. Sponsors never review or change our historical conclusions. Affiliate links, when used, are disclosed on the page. ON Rewind is not affiliated with the brands, businesses or organizations it covers unless explicitly stated.
Corrections
