Privacy Policy

Draft — have this reviewed before launch.

ON Rewind collects as little personal information as possible and never sells it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Newsletter: your email address and a record of your consent (when and where you signed up, and the wording you agreed to).
  • Memories, messages and partner enquiries: what you choose to send us, including any photo. Your email address is never published.
  • Analytics: only if you accept analytics cookies (see below).

How we use it

To send the newsletter you asked for, to reply to you, to follow up on memories you’ve shared and — only with your permission — to publish your memory with the credit you chose. We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

Cookies and analytics

If you click Accept in our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to count visits and see which stories people read. It sets cookies in your browser and Google processes the data, which may be stored outside Canada. We use it only for aggregate statistics: no ads, no advertising profiles.

If you click No thanks, Google Analytics isn’t loaded at all. Your choice is remembered in your browser. You can change it any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

The site itself doesn’t set tracking cookies. If you sign in to edit the site, WordPress sets the cookies it needs to keep you signed in.

Where it’s kept

Newsletter signups, memories, messages and photos are stored on our web host’s servers. Photos you send us are kept in a private folder that isn’t publicly accessible. We keep messages and memories for as long as we need them to respond or to publish with your permission, and delete them on request.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any newsletter with one click. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to withdraw a memory, contact us.
